Blog and social media posts are much more likely to catch someone’s eye if they include decent imagery, but the cost of a subscription to iStock Photo or Adobe image library might not be something you’ve budgeted for. This doesn’t have to be a problem though as there are many good stock image libraries around and a vast array of high quality free imagery. I’ve put together a list of my favourites, but please comment below if you know of any other good image resources and I’ll add them to the list.
Over 620,000 high-quality photos, illustrations, and vector graphics. Free for commercial use. No attribution required.
Unsplash releases 10 stunning new photos every 10 days shot by professional photographers and they are all free to use.
Pexels is another great resource for free stock photos. They regularly update adding at least 50 new images a week.
A great little website where you can access vintage images.
Over 25,000 images are added every day so you should be able to find free images that work for you. And you don’t need to create an account to use it.
While there are lots of professional photographers selling their images on Flickr you can search specifically for images that are free to use selecting search Creative Commons only in the advanced search.
